How to split a PDF

  1. Upload the PDF you want to split. A thumbnail preview shows each page with its number so you can confirm what you are working with.
  2. Pick a mode — split by custom ranges like 1-5, 8, 10-12, split every N pages, or break the file into one-page-per-PDF output.
  3. Click Split PDF. The tool generates one or more PDFs and packages them as a ZIP download so you can save them all in one click.

Common reasons to split

Frequently asked

Does splitting lose any quality?

No. Pages are copied byte-for-byte from the source, so images, fonts, and vector graphics stay identical to the original. Splitting is lossless.

Can I split scanned PDFs that contain only images?

Yes. Whether a PDF stores text or scanned page-images does not affect splitting — it operates on the page boundary, not on the content inside.

What is the largest PDF I can split here?

Your browser's memory is the real limit. 500-page PDFs split comfortably on mid-range phones. For huge documents (2000+ pages) a desktop browser with more RAM is the better choice.

How are the output files named?

Each output file is named with its page range — for example document_pages_1-10.pdf — so you can tell them apart without opening each one.

Privacy: Your PDF is read, split, and zipped entirely inside this browser tab. Nothing is uploaded. If you close the tab, the file is gone from our side.
